Martha Whiteman Graber was the daughter of a Philadelphia suburban medical doctor and the youngest daughter of the "Whiteman clan" of Mill Creek Hundred, Newark, Delaware. She grew up in Royersford, Montgomery Co., Pennsylvania, and married Robert "Mac" Ross in about 1944. They later moved to his native New England, living in Vermont, then Grafton County, New Hampshire. He survived her passing and died on 26 June 2009.
