YARMOUTH -- Charlene V. Eaton, 88, of 88 Bucknam Pt. Rd., Yarmouth, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at Maine Medical Center after a courageous battle with emphysema.
She was born July 23, 1918, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Simon and Margie Brewer. She was raised in East Millinocket and attended schools there. She later moved to Yarmouth where she spent most of her life surrounded by her family whom loved her deeply.
She enjoyed Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, reading and crossword puzzles. She also loved her cat Posey who never left her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Margie Brewer; her first husband, Emile Simond; her second husband, Clifford Eaton; her sister, Ruth Murray; her sister, Janet Berrick; her brother, Edwin Brewer; her daughter, Gloria McKinney; her son, Terry Eaton; and her daughter, Debbie Neilsen.
She is survived by her sister, Geraldine Wallace; her daughter, Janice Maclearn; her son, Charles Eaton (and his wife Kathy); and her son, Leigh Eaton (and his wife Terri Jean); 14 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her family.
Services will be Tuesday, Aug. 22, at First Baptist Church in Yarmouth at 11 a.m., and a graveside service at 12:30 at Pinegrove Cemetery, North Yarmouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to cancer and emphysema.
