Carolyn was the daughter of Curtis Grant Sr and Doretha Ashley Grant. She was educated in the Crisp County School System and was a Class of 1977 graduated of Crisp County High School. She was employed in the Dietary Department of Crisp Regional Hospital for many years. She later was employed as a Line Leader with Tyson Foods of Vienna, Georgia until her retirement in December of 2013 after 18 years of service. She was a member of Beulahland Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Dorothy Grant and Linda Faye Grant, 1 brother, Curtis Grant Jr, paternal grandparents, Ike and Bessie Grant, maternal grandparents, Wes and Mary Lou Ashley, 1 uncle, S.W. Ashley and 1 aunt, Coretha Ashley.
