Rebecca Lynn Rodriguez, 56, a native and lifelong resident of Ashton, passed on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in New Orleans.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin during an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Father Cedric Sonnier will be the Celebrant for the Mass. Following the Mass she will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian "Hunter" Picard Jr., Rock Rodriguez, Raphael "Jake" Rodriguez IV, Joshua Sylve, Larry Crosby and Raphael "Chuck" Rodriguez III. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Ecuer, Brian Picard Sr., and Elijah Rodriguez.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time at 11:00 a.m.
Rebecca was born to Patricia "Patsy" Naquin Rodriguez and the late Raphael "Pookie" Rodriguez Jr. on April 7, 1961. In her earlier years, Rebecca worked for St. Mary Parish in various areas. She later went on to work for Chez Hope, which was her true passion. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially with her children and grandson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Winifred R. Rodriguez and her fianc Joshua Sylve and Margaret C. Rodriguez; her grandson, Elijah Rodriguez; her mother, Patricia "Patsy" Naquin Rodriguez; one brother, Raphael "Chuck" Rodriguez III and his wife Jonni; two sisters, Patrice R. Picard and her husband Brian and Rachel R. Ecuer and her husband Gerald; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her niece, Celia Marie Picard; maternal grandparents, Dave and Marie Naquin; and paternal grandparents, Raphael Sr. and Druscilla Rodriguez.
