Mr. Kenneth M. Guyer, age 89 of Minooka, IL passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday March 5, 2020.

Born January 24, 1931 in Annapolis, IL, Kenneth was one of eight children and son to John W. and Fairy (Hagar) Guyer.

The Guyer family resided in Robinson, IL and later in Evansville, IN where Kenneth attended high school prior to entering the United States Army.

Shortly after enlisting, he was engaged to Christine McDowell from Noble, IL and the two were wed on July 25th, 1953 near the Fort Leonard Wood military base in Kansas. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan and South Korea where he was responsible for the engineering and building of runways and bridges.

After leaving the military, Kenneth and Christine settled in Minooka, IL where he joined Caterpillar Tractor Inc. At Caterpillar, Kenneth was a part of the Aerospace and Machinists Division and retired with over 30 years of service.

Kenneth was a respected member of the Ambassadors for Christ Church in Morris, IL, and a valued member of his community. He had a passion for collecting antiques, reading, and watching old movies. Later in life, he and Christine traveled often to visit with their family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Christine Guyer, Minooka, IL; daughters, Ms. Linda Guyer, Olney, IL, Ms. Karen Guyer, Olney, IL, a son, David Guyer, Flora, IL, and a daughter, Ms. Theresa Guyer (Curt Hecker), Collinsville, IL; six grandchildren, Jamie Apostolou (Naomi), Los Angeles, CA, Kristen Drake (Kenny), Cisne, IL, Heather Henson, Olney, IL, Fawna Forrest, Olney, IL, Hannah Henson, Olney, IL, Jimmy Guyer, Collinsville, IL; six great-grandchildren, Austin Drake, Jill Drake, Trent Easton, Destiny Henson, Serenity Henson, Alma Apostolou, along with several nephews and cousins in the Crawford County area.

Preceding Kenneth in death were his parents, John and Fairy; brothers, Norman, Lyle, Keith; sisters, Rhea Stewart, Nona Miller, Dora Bobis, Marie Rankin and a grandson, Shawn Christopher Henson in 1989.

The Funeral Service will be Wednesday March 11, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Pastor Scott Polk officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday March 10, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.

Burial will be in the Bailiff Cemetery, rural West York, IL with military graveside rites provided by combined units of E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion, Robinson, IL, VFW Post #4549, Robinson, IL, AMVETS Post #33, Robinson, IL and Reavill Post #132, Flat Rock, IL.
