Delores (Dee) Jeanne White, 83, of Coldwater, passed peacefully in her sleep, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 14, 2019 Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor David Pierce from the First Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Dutcher Funeral Home. Private interment will take place at a later date.

Dee was born in Chicago, IL on June 16 th , 1935, to Jules and Vivian Esther (Rose) Kusel. She was the youngest and only daughter. She graduated and was an active member of the Coldwater High School Class of 1952. She married Wesley Overstreet in 1954, in Angola, IN. He was killed in an auto accident in 1957. Dee married her life partner, Richard H. (Dick) White on February 6, 1960 in Coldwater, MI.

Dee was an active and busy woman. She co-owned White Supply Company with Dick for 29 years. She was a member of the Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, Ladies Golf Association of Coldwater, Michigan State Alumni Association, and was very active in the American Cancer Society of Branch County for many years.

Dee was a true Michigan State University Spartan. Dee and Dick (1954 MSU alumni) were avid MSU sports fans, holding both football and basketball season tickets for many years. They were longtime benefactors of the university, with many rooms named in their honor.

Most of all, Dee cherished and loved spending time with Dick, their “girls” and later, the eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was a loving and generous mother and grandmother, famous for her rendition of the song “Happy Birthday” that she sang to each member of the family in the early a.m. of their birthday. Dee had the gift of gab, and never met a stranger.

Dee is survived by, and will be sadly missed by her daughters Leslee (John) Ziegler, Susan White (Doug Chapman) all of Coldwater, Linda (Dan) Ohmer of Marshall, Lauri (Brian) Nelson of Livonia, her grandchildren Brant (Amy) Ziegler, Erik (Carey King) Ziegler, Stacey (Corey) Donner, Katie Watts, Jennifer (Shamel) Meadows, Lindsey Ohmer, Cole Nelson, Gabriel Nelson, and her four great grandchildren Connor Crawford, Claire and Jackson Ziegler and Cameron Donner; brother, Irwin J. Kusel (Geri) of Batavia, IL, and her beloved King Cavalier Spaniel, Daisy. Dee is also survived by her many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Wesley Overstreet and Richard H. (Dick) White, and brother, Robert I. Kusel.
