Joseph Donald "Don" Armstrong
November 19, 1935 - March 4, 2020 Joseph Donald "Don" Armstrong, 84 of Deputy, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at his residence. He was born November 19, 1935 in Robertson County, Tennessee, the son of the late Joseph Richard Armstrong and Hazel (Porter) Armstrong. On November 21, 1956 he married Margurett L. (Daily) Armstrong, who passed away on March 31, 2017. Don retired from the Scott, Clark, and Jackson County Co-Ops after many years of service. He was an active member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Deputy, Indiana and was a member of the Kent and Hayden tractor clubs. Don enjoyed buying, selling, and trading toy tractors, setting up at toy shows, tending to his garden, working in his greenhouse, setting up and selling vegetables at the Scott County Farmers Market. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents and infant daughters, Marilyn, Carolyn and Tammy Armstrong, son-in-law Loren Robinson, and sister-in-law Judy Armstrong. Survivors include a son, Dale Armstrong and his wife Faye of Deputy, Indiana; a daughter, Sherry Robinson of Scottsburg, Indiana; three brothers, James Ralph Armstrong of Gas City, Indiana, Leon Armstrong and his wife Nina of Henryville, Indiana, Freddie Armstrong and his wife Mary of Jeffersonville, Indiana; a sister, Elaine Carlisle and her husband Gary of New Washington, Indiana. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Christopher Armstrong (Tiffany), Amy Collins (Travis), Kimberly Hardy (Steven) and Ashley Armstrong (Andrew Campbell) and four great grandchildren, Jasper, Hayden and Sylvia Armstrong and Laurel Hardy. Cremation with burial at a later date Bethany Baptist Cemetery in Deputy, Indiana.
