Mattie Watts Bailey, age 93 of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Clover, Virginia on September 27, 1926 to the late Samuel and Ruby (Sneed) Watts. Before her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress. She dearly enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and quilting before the loss of her eyesight, as well as travel. Mattie was a dedicated member of Broadview Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her church family at church functions. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her loving family. In addition to her parents, Mattie was preceded in death by her siblings, Arthur Watts, Hagood Watts, Dewey Watts, and Lillian Conner. She is survived by her loving daughter, Brenda Hill of Winchester; siblings, Harriett (Bobby) Womack of Vernon Hill, Virginia, Jimmy Watts (Faye) of Halifax, Virginia, Eugene (Barbara) Watts of Halifax, Virginia, Jody (Barbara) Watts of Clarksville, Virginia, and Almeda Perkins of Russellville, Missouri; grandchildren, Nikki Nunley, Kirsten Hill, Carole Willoughby, Teresa Kelley, and Todd Hill; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Charles Houston officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Broadview Missionary Baptist Church, 3477 Lynchburg Road, Winchester, TN 37398.
