Calvin received his formal education in the Somerset County Public School System. He worked numerous jobs throughout his life time, but specialized in carpentry and plumbing. He was a "jack of all trades", and could be found lending a helping hand to family and friends whenever needed. Calvin was a member of Greater Hope where Pastor James H. James presided. Calvin loved fishing and traveling whenever time permitted with the love of his life, Doris. He especially loved spending time with his nephew Al, and the two of them were together frequently. A brother Herolin was his "side kick" and "road dawg" and the two of them were like twins.
In 1985, Calvin's best friend Lester Dawson introduced him to his mother Doris. The two lost track after a year, but reconnected in 1994. In 1998 they exchanged wedding vows. From this union, he accepted the role of "Dad" to her four teen-aged children.
Left to cherish loving memories of Calvin are: his wife, Doris G. Price; 4 children, Vanessa (Kevin) Warner, Lester (Rebecca) Dawson, Rodney (Brenda) Dawson and Andre (Lori) Gaskins, all of Salisbury, Maryland; two paternal brothers, Herolin (Martha) Price of Hebron, MD and William (Deborah) Price of Aberdeen, MD; three paternal sisters, Olivia Henderson of Salisbury, MD, Norma (Andrew) Tindley of Mardela Springs, MD and Eunice (Al) Cannon of Aberdeen, MD; a very special Grand-daughter, Corporal Shaina Thompson currently serving in the United States Marine Corps and stationed in Cherry Point, NC; one sister-in-law Brenda (Bobby) Waters of North Carolina; three brothers-in-law, William C. Gakins and Roy Gaskins, both of Salisbury, MD and Melvin Gaskins of Cumberland, MD; nineteen grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; extended family, the Jones Brothers of Venton, MD; great friends James Ward and Marcus Bailey as well as a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
