Travis Lynn Nelson age 39 was born on July 6, 1980 in Guthrie, OK to Merlyn “Pepe” and Janie (Hirzel) Nelson. Travis passed away peacefully on February 27, 2020 surrounded by those he loved the most.
Travis leaves behind his beloved wife Raven, four children: one son Gavin Zackary (12), and daughters Taylor Lynn (9), AikLyne Ray (10) and AariLyne Dianne (9). He also leaves behind his parents, siblings Eric Nelson of Tulsa, Asa (Audra) Nelson of Guthrie, Katie Nelson of Guthrie and Carson Nelson of Guthrie, his grandmother Darlene (Hall) Vadder of Guthrie and numerous nieces, nephews and too many friends like family to count.
Travis had an energy about him like no other. Travis had the ability to brighten anyone’s day, no matter how dark. Travis had a huge heart and was always wanting to help others. His presence was undeniable anytime he was around. Always seeking to make others laugh, Travis will be most remembered for his ability to do just that. We are left with many memories of Travis, but what stands out to so many is his warm and charming smile and personality.
Travis was preceded in death by his Grandfather Merlyn B. Nelson of Guthrie, Grandfather Albert E. “Dutch” Hirzel of Guthrie and Grandmother Hazel L. (Lucas) Hirzel of Guthrie.
Funeral services for Travis will be held on Friday March 13th 2:00 P.M. at Guthrie First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Michael Gatlin officiating. A private family ceremony will be held afterward before a 6:00 Celebration of Life gathering at Cimarron National Golf Club beginning at 6:00 P.M. until done.
