Clara Mae Young, age 87, of Paducah passed away at 1:25 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Parkview Nursing Home. Clara Mae was an active member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church and was a member of WMU. Clara Mae taught Sunday School to children for many years as well as Vacation Bible Schools when the church was known as 12th Street Baptist Church which is known now as Twelve Oaks Baptist Church. Clara Mae was a native of Barlow, KY. She was a loving person to all that knew her through the years as she was recognized for her service attitude.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Ann Young Cummings and husband, Chester of Paducah; one son, Howard Lee Young of Sugar Land, TX; one brother, M.T. Bowles and wife, Ruth of Kevil, KY; one sister-in-law, Shirley Bowles of Metropolis; two granddaughters, Carrie Ervin and husband, Jeff of Nashville, TN, Cristy McDonald of Paducah; two great-grandchildren, Ryan Ervin and Aubrey Ervin; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were her husband, Glenn Howard Young; parents, Lee Roy and Ida Mae Tilford Bowles; brother, Lewis Bowles and an infant brother and infant sister.
Services will be held Friday, March 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Brandt Lyon officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
