August 4, 1947 ~ March 2, 2020 (age 72)
George W. Baldwin Jr. of Simpsonville died Monday, March 2, 2020 at the age of 72.
Mr. Baldwin was a member of Laurens Road Church of God.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mayme McDonald Baldwin, and father, George W. Baldwin.
He is survived by his sister and her husband, Nancy and Larry Rowe of Mauldin, SC; his nieces and their husbands, Dedee Rowe and Steele Pendleton of Columbia, SC and Christy and Lanny McCormack of Richmond, TX; and 5 great nieces and nephews: Eva Pendleton, Steele Pendleton, Anna McCormack, Alyssa McCormack, and Trace McCormack.
"Uncle George" was a fun-loving uncle and brother. He had a big sense of humor and loved to make others laugh, especially his great nieces and nephews. He enjoyed watching sports of any kind (particularly Clemson football – to the dismay of his sister and nieces), keeping up with current events, listening to music, and reading his Bible. He will be sorely missed, but always remembered for his strong faith, his love of his family, and his vibrant laugh.
A graveside service will be held Friday, March 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Scot Ford officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of Greenville, or the charity of your choice.
