September 8, 1928 ~ February 28, 2020 (age 91) Robert Middleton, 91 of Harlan passed away on Friday evening of February 28, 2020 at the Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA.

Robert was born September 8, 1928 in Harlan, KY to the late Beckham and Eula Gilbert Middleton. He was lifelong resident of Harlan, a retired coal miner of 15 years with Harlan-Wallins Coal Co. He worked as a janitor for the Harlan Co. Board of Education at the Verda Elementary School. He believed in the Baptist Faith.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by 8 brothers & sisters.

He is survived by his brother, Harvey Middleton of Jonesville, VA; his sister, Linda Clark of Harlan; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be 7:00 pm Friday (March 6) in the chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Hargus Cornett of First Baptist Church of Baxter officiating.

The family will receive friends after 5:00 pm Friday (March 6) until the time of the service.
