A Douglas County native, Mrs. George was born on January 23, 1933 to the late Homer and Mattie (Dorsett) Chapman.
She was a very humble, regal and loving person. She served the Lord all her life doing for others, taking care of family and tirelessly gave to anyone in need. Her career was in-home childcare and took care of approximately 600 children during her 20 years, who all remember her for her home cooked meals and always called her Nana. She was a member of Chapel Hill Road Baptist Church and knew the valuable lessons of prayer and having a strong faith in God. May she rest in peace.
Mrs. George is survived by a daughter, Caren C. (Preston) Higgenbottom of Douglasville; son, Donald M. (Debbie) Campbell of Kennesaw; sisters, Ruth Thomas of Dallas, Annette Cochran, Carolyn Cochran and Mattie B. Cochran of Ellijay, Marie Potts of Rockmart, and many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 Noon in the Rosehaven Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
