Shannon Dion “Diesel” McCullough

Shannon was born on August 13, 1976, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He lived most of his life in the Negreet area. He disappeared on August 7, 2015, and his family worried about “what had happened” to him, knowing he would not just up and leave his family with no word as to where he was or where he was going. Finally, toward the end of 2019, remains were found in the vicinity of Shadows Landing near where his truck had been found. The family received word on February 24, 2020, that DNA analysis showed that the remains were those of Shannon.
Shannon was a fun-loving boy with a little bit of mischievousness in him. His nickname by family and friends was Diesel. He had made his profession of faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior at Oak Hill Baptist Church. He attended Negreet High School and later received his GED. He worked most of the time as a driller on offshore rigs in the Gulf oilfield.
Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2020, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Many beginning at 10:00 am. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 am, also at Rose-Neath in Many. Conducting those services will be Bro. William Speight and Bro. Marty Williams. Private family interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Negreet.
Shannon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Travis and Wanda McCullough and Ross and Marguerite Miller. Survivors of Shannon are his wife, Stacie Murray McCullough of Natchitoches, LA; daughters, Cesely (CeCe) McCullough of Many, LA, Shaina Kennedy of Many, LA, Kaylie McCullough of Many, LA, Jaydn (Harlee) McCullough of Natchitoches, LA; mother, Anne Miller McCullough of Many, LA; father, Randy McCullough of Many, LA; sister, Melanie Harris and husband Derik of Many, LA; brother, Dustin McCullough of Shreveport, LA; and grandson, Kyrie Turner of Many, LA. Diesel is also survived by several uncles, aunts, and nieces as well as many cousins.
The family is so appreciative of the support and prayers of so many people during these four and a half difficult years. We thank you for coming today to this service to remember Diesel.
