Ireland Stanley
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Ireland Stanley. 90, of Varney, Ky., died Thursday, Dec. 1, 1994, in Pikeville Methodist Hospital.
Bom Aug. 21, 1904, in Pike County, Ky., he was a son of the late Mont R. Stanley and Josie Price Stanley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pernie Jane Stanley. He was a retired coal miner.
Survivors: sons, Ermal Stanley and Dennis Stanley, both of Melvindale, Mich., Garrett Stanley and Harley Stanley, both of Varney; daughters, Necie Crider, Varney, Emilee Maynard, Macon, Ga.; brothers, Oscar Stanley, Forest Hills, Ky., Charlie Stanley, Sidney, Ky., D.W. Stanley, Pikeville; sister, Josie Nichols, Gulnare; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Dec. 4, 1994, Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church with Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Varney.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation: J.W. Call and Son Funeral Home, Pikeville with services at 7 p.m. tonight. The body will be moved to the church at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Ireland and Pernie Stanley

It is with a sad heart I will try to write the obituary of Ireland and Pernie Stanley of Wolf Mountain Road, Varney, KY.
Pernie Jane Stanley, 90 years of age, died at her home on August 23, 1994. She was the daughter of Mont B. Stanley and Nancy Bowling Stanley. She leaves behind one brother Carlis Stanley and one sister Trudy Maynard. Four sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
Ireland Stanley, 90 years of age, died on December 1, 1994 at Pikeville Methodist Hospital. He was the son of Mont R. Stanley and Josephine Price Stanley. He also leaves behind three brothers, Oscar, Charlie and David Stanley and one sister, Josie Nichols. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
Uncle Ireland and Aunt Pernie were united in marriage in November 1923, to this union were born six children: Ermal and Dennis Stanley of Melvindale, MI, Garrett and Harley Stanley of Varney, KY; Two daughters, Necie Crider of Varney, KY and Emilee Maynard of Macon, GA. Twenty grandchildren, Thirty six great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren are left to mourn their loss. Our family and community has lost two wonderful people. They will be sadly missed by their family, friends, and neighbors on Brushy. By God's love and mercy may we meet them in Heaven.
