Paul made the most important decision of his life on March 5, 1970. He decided to trust his Lord, Jesus Christ and was saved. Over the years, his family recalls his personal testimony always reflected this date as a day that changed his life. In 1971, Paul accepted his calling to become a pastor. He pastored at Mt. Horeb Church for more than thirty years. He loved his church family, as they did him and appreciated their support and continued prayers over the years.
On January 31, 1963, Paul was united in marriage with the love of his life and eternal best friend, Miss Crystle McGuire. Together they shared fifty-seven years of laughter and memories, while raising their five children.
Paul took great pride in providing for his wife and children. Although he was a devoted pastor, he was also a talented and sought after mechanic. He retired from Camdenton School District after twenty-two years and also Camden County Road and Bridge, as a mechanic.
Paul enjoyed being outdoors. He farmed and enjoyed the daily tasks of farm life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well. However, of all the many things he loved about his life, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was what he treasured most.
He leaves to celebrate his home going, his wife Crystle; their children, Paul Willard Burns of Camdenton, MO, Sandy Bartolozzi and her husband John of Enid, OK, Kimberly Vinduska and her husband Richard, Sheila Dampier and her husband Steve and Angela Snow and her husband Randy, all of Camdenton, MO; one brother, Jim Burns and his wife Kim of Camdenton, MO; two sisters, Nancy North and her husband Dennis of Camdenton, MO and Willa Faulkner of Oak Grove, MO; nine grandchildren, Erik Burns, Cameron Burns, Kevin Sanders, Luciano Bartolozzi, Giovanni Bartolozzi, Anthony Keefe, Cheyanne Moore, Kylor Burns and his wife Dezi, Dylan Snow and Whitney Snow; five great-grandchildren, Dayton and Miya Burns, Skilynn and Tanner Martin and Jaide Horn; other relatives; church family and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Although our hearts may not have been ready for him to go, the fact that his mansion was finished on a Sunday morning at 4:19 A.M. provides a sense of peace for the family. They reference Philippians 4:19~But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus~(KJV) Well done good and faithful servant.
