Helen L. Harmon of Dagsboro, DE went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2020. She was 75 years old.
Helen was born in Wilmington, DE on September 27, 1944 to the late Thomas Henry and Helen I. Norwood Harmon. In addition to her parents, she is also proceeded in death by an infant son, Andre' E. Harmon, brother Leonard L. Harmon, sister in-law Patricia Harmon and brother in-laws Norman Goldsborough II and O’Bryant Scruggs.
Helen attended the William C. Jason High School in Georgetown DE. Helen enjoyed playing dominoes, collecting Lennox china, cooking yearly Christmas dinners, caring for her plants and home. She was joyful, quiet, and a great cook. Helen was devoted to her son Oliver and soulmate Oliver. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Helen is survived by her soulmate of 49 years, Oliver V. Burton of Dagsboro, DE, son, Oliver V. Harmon of Ocean City, MD, a step-son Sterling Daughty (Tara) of Millsboro, DE, a step-granddaughter, Renee Harmon of Seaford, DE, a step-great-granddaughter Sharnae Harmon of Seaford, DE and a step-great-grandson Ke'San Harmon of Seaford, DE.
Helen leaves behind two sisters: Macey G. Goldsborough of Dover, DE, and Mildred H. Scruggs of Glen Allen, VA and two brothers: Thomas H. Harmon (Emma) of Lewes, DE and Clinton E. Harmon of Millsboro, DE. She also leaves behind one uncle George Norwood of Millsboro, DE, and one aunt Elaine Norwood of Millsboro, DE, along with a sister-in-law, Mabel Harmon of Middletown, DE and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 10:00 am to 11:00 am for viewing and visitation. Interment will follow at Israel United Methodist Church Cemetery on Plantation Road in Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Israel United Methodist Church, 20254 Plantation Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
