Joyce Swanson Franklin, age 62, Buena Vista, Georgia passed Friday, February 3, 2017 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M, Friday, February 10, 2017 at Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, Pineville Road, Buena Vista, Georgia.
Interment will follow in the Pineville Cemetery.
Mrs. Joyce Swanson Franklin was born October 26, 1954 in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia to the late Lee Gibson and the late Mary Swanson Terry. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Mitchell Terry, Alfred Terry and Mildred Terry. She was educated in the public school systems of Taylor County and Schley County. Accepting Christ at an early age, she joined Evergreen Baptist Church of Mauk, Georgia. After many years of dedicated services, she retired from the Marion County Board of Education, Tyson Foods, and Manhattan Shirt Company.
She was united in holy matrimony to her beloved, Jesse Franklin, and to this union, they were blessed with four children, fifteen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
