Jean always knew she wanted to be a mom and having a close knit family was a big part of her life. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and baking, especially her awesome pies and cookies. Later in life, she would often bake for the crew members who served with her son in the United States Navy. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Pamela Watkins and her husband, Jeff of Newark, Ohio; four sons, John Rodgers of Conifer, Colo., James Rodgers of West Palm Beach, Fla., Michael Rodgers of Raleigh, N.C., and Thomas Rodgers. She will also be missed by her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Joan Fitzgerald and her husband, Jerry of Rutland, Mass., and June Roller and her husband, Heinz of Rockport, Mass.; and her sister-in-law, Phyllis Latassa and her husband, John of North Woodstock, N.H.
She was predeceased by her sister, Judy Sholler; and brother-in-law, Milton Rodgers and wife, Caroline.
Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Thursday, October 20, at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass celebrated in St. Joachim’s Church, Holy Family Parish, Rockport, at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friend are cordially invited to attend. The burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 19, from 4 to 7 p.m.
