Loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother – Donna Gibson, peacefully passed over at the Sunshine Adult Care Home in Beaverton on Saturday 15 February 2020. She was 84 years old.
She was born and raised in North Portland by immigrant
parents Mark & Marie Viducich originally from Croatia. She was the youngest of five siblings including Virginia Belozer, Bob, Sam, and Tony Viducich - all now deceased.
She briefly attended Portland State University in
1958 where she met William Ray (Bus) Gibson. (He
was from Odell, Hood River.) In 1959, they married
and raised their three children in the West Gresham/
Rockwood area in the same residence for 58 years. Bus
passed away on 1 August 2018 and they were just short
of celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary on 17
October 2019.
Donna was happiest when she surrounded by her
children, grandchildren and close friends. She was an
active, stay-at-home mother; occasional volunteer at
St. Anne and St. Therese Catholic Churches; worked
part-time at Nickelsen Clark Advertising and a few
local Antique shops. In her later years, she was involved
with Cascade Athletic Club's Senior swimming classes.
Donna's creative passion for gardening, writing and
flowers has been clearly passed onto many, including
her immediate family. She is survived by Teresa in
New Zealand; Steve in White Salmon, Washington;
and Sandra in New York City. Grandchildren include
Sarah in White Salmon, Hayden in Boise plus Kutumi
and Amitiel in New Zealand.
Her ashes will be buried alongside her husband's at
the Willamette National Cemetery. A Private Service
may be held in September - near Donna's birthday. In
lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to
www.WilliamTempleHouse.org in Portland.
O special thanks and gratitude to cousins Mary
Lou Belozer plus Cheryl & Fred Keithan plus Deborah
Hutu/Sunshine Adult Care Home for her outstanding
care of Donna/our Mom over the last eight months!
