Daniel Deloss Parker was the son of Genevieve Tidwell and Harold Parker.
Dan grew up for the most part in Salt Lake City, graduating from West High School, He served in the U.S. Air Force, stateside, for two years and was honorably discharged. He then attended and graduated from the University of Utah. Later with the support and encouragement of his second wife, Betty June, he went back to school and continued his education receiving a Masters in Psychology and Sociology from the Kansas University Med Center.
He returned to California, where he worked at the Atascadero State Hospital.
