Grace L. Burke of South Scranton died Wednesday at the Mountain View Care Center after an illness.
She was the widow of Thomas M. Burke, who died July 9, 2003.
Born in Taylor, daughter of the late Henry and Clara Youngman Ott, she was educated in Riverside and Scranton schools. Grace was an avid reader and loved to crochet. When she was younger she enjoyed making ceramics. Her greatest enjoyment was attending many of her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, school concerts and spending time with her family. Grace was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are sons, Thomas and wife, Marie, Roaring Brook; and Michael and wife, Nancy, Clarks Summit; son-in-law, Thomas Smith, Scranton; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Smith; infant daughter, Margaret; and sisters, Joan Fedor and Merle Cron.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Neumann Parish at Nativity Church, 633 Orchard St., Scranton.
