Michael E. Curry, age 74 of Darlington, WI, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg, WI. He was born September 9, 1945 in Kearney, Nebraska, the son of Phillip and Dorothy (Muhlbach) Curry. At a young age, Mike tragically lost both parents and was raised by members of the Curry family. Mike grew up in Lamont, WI and later moved to Darlington after graduating from high school. He was united in marriage to Karen Lynn Powell on December 17, 1966 at the United Methodist Church in Darlington. Mike owned and operated Mike Curry Trucking Company where he delivered milk and cream for a number of years throughout the Lafayette County area. After some years Mike started working for various trucking companies including; Grande, Weise Trucking and Mexican Cheese until his retirement in 2018.

Mike is survived by his wife Karen at home: three children: Tom (Lynn) Curry of Merrill, WI, Craig (Jennifer) Curry of Cooksville, WI, and Jenny (Casey) Crist of Darlington, WI; daughter-in-law: Christina Curry-Droste of Dodgeville, WI; seven grandchildren: Kyle, Cameron, Matthew, and Ryan Curry and Emma, Cody, and Mazie Crist. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; Aunt Margaret and Uncle Russell Curry who raised him; one son: Tim Curry; one brother: Roger Curry; and one sister: Jill Smith.

Mike was a member of the Darlington United Methodist Church, the Darlington Men’s Bowling Association, and the Darlington Country Club. He loved bowling, golfing, singing in church choir, reading books, and especially spending time with family making memories that they will cherish forever. Mike had a beautiful voice and loved to sing anytime of the day or night.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Darlington United Methodist Church, Darlington, WI., with Rev. Angie Utter officiating. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the church from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM on March 2, 2020 at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is assisting the Family.
