ROCK HILL - Mr. Daniel R. McQueen, Sr., 83, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Piedmont Medical Center.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, Rock Hill with Revs. Richard W. Carr, III and Mark Verdery officiating. Burial will be private.
Born in Mullins, Mr. McQueen was a son of the late James Thomas McQueen and the late Alpha Rogers McQueen. He was a US Navy veteran and a graduate of Presbyterian College. He was retired from Rock Hill Telephone Company with 37 years of service and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Rock Hill. He was an avid sports enthusiast and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Maria "Penny" Harrison McQueen; two sons, Daniel R. McQueen, Jr. (Kim) of Rock Hill and Glenn H. McQueen (Shannon) of Easley; three sisters, Vivian M. Fitchett of Dunn, NC, Tommie M. McCall of Lexington and Betty Jo M. Spann of Greenville; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
