Bonnie Mae Thomas, age 91, of West Frankfort, IL, passed away peacefully at 3:40 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020, in Helia Health Care in Benton, IL.
She was born on Thursday, October 4, 1928 in Carterville, IL the daughter of Floyd E. and Bertha (Jackson) Futrell.
She grew up in Carterville, IL and was united in marriage to Loren F. "Tom" Thomas on Sunday, March 22, 1947 in Carbondale, IL and together they shared over fifty-eight years of marriage until death, March 9, 2006.
She always enjoyed caring for her family and her home and was a good cook and was known for her yeast rolls. She always kept busy and enjoyed knitting Afghans and sweaters for her family and was an excellent seamstress and would sew clothing for the family and the girl's dolls.
She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid Society of West Frankfort, IL for many years.
Bonnie loved her family and always enjoyed the many times they shared together. She was always interested in the many activities of her family and the many memories that have been created will now be cherished by those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Don and Dixie and Robin all of West Frankfort; one granddaughter, Jessica and her husband, Jason and one great granddaughter; one brother J. Futrell of Carbondale; one sister-in-law, I. Futrell of Marion, IL; one brother-in-law, John of Jacksonville, FL; numerous special nieces and nephews, other extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren; two sisters, Maxine Collins and Lucy Oberheu and three brothers, Eugene, Tommy and Bill Futrell.

Arrangements for Bonnie Mae Thomas have been entrusted to Stone Funeral Home, 1201 East Poplar Street, West Frankfort, IL.
The visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at the funeral home.
Following the time of visitation the funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will follow 11:00 a.m. on Monday March 2, 2020 in Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale, IL.
