Herbert Stanley Anderson, 92, of Milford passed away on Tuesday February 25, 2020. Born on October 13, 1927 in Boston MA, he was the son of Jacob and Ida (Roye) Anderson.
Herbert spent some of his childhood and teen years in Jamaica, and then left to proudly serve his country in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged in 1954. In 1979, he moved to Nashua, where he became a parishioner of the Main Street United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife Gem (Newell) Anderson; daughters Bernadette Chong and her husband Peter of Virginia, and Rachel Anderson and her husband Andrew Flynn of Milford; grandchildren Rebecca Chong, Olivia Chong, Andre Flynn, and Savannah Anderson-Flynn; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his brothers Leo Anderson, Jake Anderson, David Anderson, and Hector Anderson.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2020 from 4-8pm at the Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St. Nashua. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday March 12, 2020 at 11am at the Main Street United Methodist Church, 154 Main St. Nashua NH, with a burial immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery.
