Herbert Lee Burns, 67 of Dover, Missouri died on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.

Born Friday, September 19, 1952 in Dexter, Missouri, he was the son of the late Harry Burns and the late Helen (Gibson) Burns. Herbert married Joyce Burns on August 9, 1985 - they spent 35 happy years together.

Herbert attended high school and grew up in Dexter, he went on to become a mechanic. He was a simple man and would be best described as a good ol' country boy. Herbert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent countless hours building and tinkering in his garage. He will be missed by many.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Burns of the home; two sons, Kenny (Heather) Burns of Higginsville, MO and Harrison (Laura) Burns of Lexington, MO; four daughters, Susan Bland of DeBary, FL, Lynnette Kramme of Independence, Dawn Burns of Tampa, FL and Ann (Justin) Howard of Lexington; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Elmer Burns; two sisters, Mary and Marie.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Hoefer Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in the City Cemetery, Higginsville.
Memorial contributions may be made out to the family and will be distributed in accordance to Herbert's wishes.
