James Garrett Pruett, age 28, of Richmond Hill, GA passed away on February 27, 2020 at his residence. Garrett was employed with the City of Richmond Hill water department. Garrett served his country proudly and was a Veteran of the United States Army. Garrett served in Operation Enduring Freedom at Ft. Riley, Kansas with 2nd Battalion, 34th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Greenview Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, March 6, 2020 in Greenview Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Pulaski, TN. Officiating with be Matt Heupel.
Garrett is survived by his wife, Cherish Mitchum; his mother Kristie Pruett; his father, Jim Pruett (Sherri); a son, Wyatt; a daughter, Ansley; brothers, Mackenzie Hogue and Brant Pruett; sisters, Brittanie Pruett and Cory McKenna; paternal grandparents, James and Kathy Pruett; maternal grandparents, Carol Hogue, Pulaski, TN and William V. Hogue (Asha), Walton, KY; along with his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Hogue, Brant Pruett, Douglas Muns, Nick Tackett, Jesse Pruett and Cody Pruett.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or 22 Until Valhalla.
