Annie Doris Cooper, Age 85 of Nashville, Tennessee transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Friday, February 14, 2020.

Annie Doris Cooper was born on October 6, 1934 to the late William and Bessie Blackmun. She received her early education in the public schools of Williamson County.

She united in matrimony to Leroy Duke Cooper in 1956, who proceed her in death in 2004. She was also preceded in death by their two oldest children, Raymond Norris Cooper and Reba Ray Cooper.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother, who was often seen playing and caring for her grandchildren. Her interests included: planting flowers, sewing quilts, and fishing with her husband. She was a devoted member of St. Luke CME Church.

She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her legacy: son; William Cooper (Kawanda) of Stone Mountain, Georgia; Joyce Evans and Tammy Cooper of Nashville, Tennessee. Her brothers; William Blackmun (Louise) of Franklin, TN; Harlis Blackmun of Franklin, TN and Nathaniel Blackmun (Joycelyn) of Franklin, TN. Her sister, Barbara Blackmun preceded her in death. She had twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Public viewing for Mrs. Cooper will be on Monday, February 24th from 2-6pm at Lewis & Wright Funeral Directors. Family visitation will be on Tuesday, February 25th from 10-11am with funeral to begin at 11 am at St. Luke CME Church, 2008 28th Avenue North, Nashville, TN. Burial at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
