She was born December 25, 1946 in Putnam County, TN to Juanita Allen Steel of Cookeville and the late Samuel Steel .
Betty was retired from Wilson Sporting Goods. She formerly had worked at Red Kap and Cookeville Shirt Factory. She was a loving grandmother and fondly remembered for her crochet and cake decorations.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Don Curtis Norris, whom she married July 1, 1967; two sons, David (Bonnie) Norris, Curtis (Shelia) Norris; daughter, Donnell (Justin) Lee; brother, Tony (Sheila) Steel; sister, Pat Bryant; grandchildren, Jeffery (Amanda) Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Chelsea (Tyler) Slagle, Haley Hardy, and Mackenzie Norris all of Cookeville; and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Norris; mother-in-law, Ozzie Norris; and brother-in-law, Fred Bryant.
Funeral services will be Wednesday March 4 at 1:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Clayton Lee and Bro. Ronnie Dunn will officiate. Interment will follow in the Double Springs Cemetery.
