Sallie Faye Smith, 84, passed away at Lee Health and Rehab in Pennington Gap, Virginia on Friday morning, February 28, 2020. Mrs. Smith was born on June 3, 1935, in Lee County, Virginia to the late William Preston and Ruth Livesay Sword.
Ms. Smith was a native of Lee County, Virginia, but she moved to the Tri-Cities area in 1984.
Ms. Smith was a member of the Hales Chapel Christian Church. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years, always serving with her whole heart. She was also a loving mother, sister, and friend who will be tremendously missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her two husbands Carter Pridemore and Richard Daniel Smith as well as four brothers and one sister.
Those left to cherish the memory of Ms. Smith include two daughters, Mary Ruth Devayne & her husband John, and Dorothy Mays; two sons Larry Pridemore & his wife Glenda, and David Pridemore; one sister Mary Rasnic; two brothers Preston Sword & wife Codeine Tabor, and Douglas Sword & wife Betty Laws; four grandchildren Wayne Pridemore, Lisa DeVal, Jenifer Casey, and Philip Pridemore; three great-grandchildren Joy Pridemore, Grayson Casey, and Penelope Aders; and several nieces and nephews.
The Graveside Service for Ms. Smith will be conducted at Washington County Memory Gardens in Johnson City, Tennessee.
