An honorable and devoted family man, Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Olga Lela Woodring Holland; 4 brothers, Milo, Marvin, Warren and Walter; and a sister, Effie Louise.
Born on November 8, 1919, Jack was raised in Grandin, MO, on the Current River by Walter and Della Hill Holland. At 18, he entered the Civilian Conservation Corps. Subsequently, he served in the Army Air Corps as a Tech Sgt. After joining the USAF during WWII, he rose in the ranks to Wing Sergeant Major in the Strategic Air Command.
After retirement from the Air Force, he settled his young family in Poplar Bluff, MO where he lived and worked over 40 years before relocating to Raleigh to be near his daughter Carol Stein and family. Jack loved woodworking, gardening, fishing, and contributing handcrafted items to various local charities including restoration projects at Historic Yates Mill on Lake Wheeler Road.

He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Holland Harris of Caldwell, Idaho and Carol Holland Stein of Panther Branch, NC; one adopted daughter, Kathy Olsen Corwin of Nixa, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews who cherish fond memories and miss him greatly. Having served his country, communities, and family over 100 years, he was respected and loved by all who knew him.

A traditional family fish fry will be held to celebrate his life on what would have been his 101st birthdate, November 8, 2020.
