Brenda Kay Ward Cochran, 73, a resident of Sikeston, died Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.

Born September 21, 1946, at Matthews, MO, to the late Charles Burris and Violet Westmoland Ward, she had lived in Sikeston her entire life where she was a 1964 graduate of Sikeston High School. She was employed for over 39 years as a nurse with Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Surviving are her sons, John Charles (Kimberley) Cochran of Holts Summit and Darrell (Kia) Cochran of Jackson; daughters, Patricia Ann Cochran of Sikeston and Paula Sue (Ervin) Shull of Meridian, MS; her sister, Dorothy Ward Thompson of Blodgett; grandchildren, Tiffany Cochran, Michael Cochran, Christina Sexton, Ashley Sexton, Robert Sexton, Sydney Shull, Amanda Cochran, Christopher Cochran, Zach Cochran, Raymond Winscott and Daniel Robison; a number of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Mouser, Wendell Ward, Charles Ward and Gary Ward and her sisters, Lettamae Holt, Barbara Culpepper and Georgia Cooper.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time for memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at the Bethel Baptist Church, 128 5th Street in Sikeston. Rev. Billy Davis, will officiate.

Private interment will follow at the New Morley Cemetery under the direction McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
