She was born to Alfred Martin Haygood, Jr. and Jessie Willard Haygood.
She graduated from Texas Women's University and came to Palestine in 1946 as Home Service Advisor for Texas Power & Light for Anderson, Leon and Houston counties. She retired after 38 years.
She was married to Robert Jordan. She was involved in the Business and Professional Women's Club and the Howard House Museum for many years. She served on the Cartmell Home Board of Directors for fifteen years. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Jordan in 2002; three sisters and two brothers.
