Shannon M. Potter 41, of Naples, FL died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at her residence. Shannon was born on March 18, 1978 in Battle Creek, MI a daughter of the late David S. Potter and the late Barbara A. (Brown) Potter. A lifelong resident of Battle Creek, Shannon moved to Naples in 2005.

Shannon had a compassionate spirit and her number one priority was her son Tegan Potter. He is her spitting image and has her kind heart and bright mind. Tegan will carry on her legacy.

Shannon enjoyed being with family and friends in the sunshine state of Florida, where she enjoyed sunsets at the beach, fishing, and working as a cosmetologist for the past twenty years. She was born and raised in Battle Creek Michigan where she enjoyed the beautiful colors of fall, growing up on Crooked Lake and playing soccer for Battle Creek Central High School class of 1996 while rooting for her favorite football team the Michigan Wolverines.

Shannon was always the life of the party (when she made it on time, we all know "Shannon Time") and enjoyed making people laugh and lifting their spirits. If she loved you she would go to bat for you no matter what.

We will never forget her kind heart, contagious laugh and her scandalous sense of humor. Shannon was so loved and will be missed by many. "We loved with a love that was more than love"

She is survived by her loving son, Tegan S. Potter; her sisters, Carrie L. Hogue and her husband, Adam of Bonita Springs, FL, Darcy Williamson and her husband, Derek of Battle Creek, MI and Mindy Brown and her fiancé, Jim McCloskey of Ft. Myers, FL; brothers, Rick Squires of Battle Creek, MI and Robby Potter and his wife, Deb of Battle Creek, MI; several aunts and uncles and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 5:30 PM at Vanderbilt Beach on the north side of Vanderbilt Beach Rd. (North of the Ritz Carlton). The family will receive friends at the beach beginning at 5:00 PM. The family asks for you to join them for the Sunset Celebration at 7:38 PM if you can.

An additional Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 4:00 PM at the American Legion 1125 E. Columbia Ave. in Battle Creek, Michigan. Light appetizers will be served.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Shannon may be made to an educational trust fund set up for her son Tegan S. Potter, C/O Carrie L. Hogue 25730 Tropic Acres Dr., Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
