She spent most of her childhood in Cincinnati, OH and graduated from Finneytown High School in 1964. She earned a BA in education at the University of WI and a Master in Arts from the University of SF. Carol started teaching grade school in Murphys in 1972 and spent a total of 27 years teaching in the Vallectio School District. She was married to James Gordon from 1971 to 1993. She is survived by daughters Heather and Holly and grandchildren Zia, Ione and Sabian Houston.
