The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 4:00 p. m. in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home, 407 West 17th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia.
On July 1, 1934, a beautiful person was born to this world. The daughter of the late Eddie and Sapora Johnson, Lois was the fourth of five children born in Dooly County, Georgia.
She was educated in the Dooly County School System. In 1961 at the age of 21, Lois moved to Newark, New Jersey where she met and married the late James Jenkins, Sr.
Through hard work and dedication, they eventually moved to the suburbs of Newark to Linden, New Jersey. They resided there for 30 years.
In 1991, they moved to Franklin, Virginia, the hometown of her husband. In 2013, after 52 years of being away, Lois decided to come home to her Dooly County roots. She made her home in Byromville, Georgia.
Lois was a fun-loving, free spirited person who enjoyed serving the Lord, cooking and traveling.
On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, Lois departed this life to be with her maker. Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by two grandchildren.
