Celia Avon Scott, 78, of Martinsville, passed from her earthly life at 9:02 am on Saturday, November 30th, 2019 at the Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis. Celia was the middle child of thirteen children born to the late Ernest and Freeda Mae (Hamm) Whitesell. She was born on Wednesday, August 13, 1941 in Martinsville, Indiana.
Celia spent her entire life in Martinsville, where she went to school, worked, and raised a family of her own. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her five children, as well as a doting grandmother to her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Celia was a former member of the Moose Ladies Auxiliary in Martinsville, an avid bingo player and a true gambling enthusiast.
She will be missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends including her sons Marvin Dean (wife, Deana) Scott of Quincy, IN, Tony Ray (wife, Lisa) Scott of Martinsville IN, and Michael Wayne (wife, Tammy) Scott of Camby IN; two daughters Tina Marie Scott of Martinsville IN, and Michelle Renee (husband, Kevin) Jones of Eminence, IN; one brother, Melvin Earl (wife, Diane) Whitesell of Monrovia, IN; two Sisters, Brenda Shaver of Martinsville and Jean (husband, Gary) Clephane of Paragon; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Celia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin Ray Scott; three brothers, Barney, George, and Ernie Whitesell; six sisters, Myrna Poore, Ernestine Richardson, Barbara Davis, Della Lou Creed, Rhonda Kindred and Beverly Peters and one granddaughter, Cassie Michelle Scott.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Saturday, December 14th, 2019 beginning at 1:00 pm at the Life Church of God, 1410 S Harriett Street Martinsville Indiana.
