Mr. Danny Ray Hunt, age 68, of Tallapoosa, GA passed away February 25, 2020.
He was born March 24, 1951, in Powderly, AL, to the late Thomas Jefferson and Dorothy Mae Carpenter Hunt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Tip Sturgill.
Danny loved to fish, hunt, and look for arrowheads. He also enjoyed scrolling through Facebook. Most of all, he adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lockhart Hunt; a daughter and son-in-law, Alina and Ken Ayers; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Carl Hunt, all of Tallapoosa, and Eric and Melissa Hunt, of Buchanan, GA; six grandchildren, Ethan Hunt, Carl Hunt, Jr., Josephine Hunt, Amon Hunt, Hunter Ayers, and Riley Ayers; two sisters, Debbie Sturgill and Karon Musgrave, of Michigan; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Kenneth and Edna Hunt, of Tallapoosa and Jerry Musgrave, of Michigan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020, at 12:00PM EST at Mt. Paran Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Pike and Rev. George Pike officiating. He will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the funeral.
Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be John Lockhart, Kevin Hunt, Kerry Hunt, Paul McKinzey, Ricky Hicks, and Jonathan James.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Wilson, Bruce Wilson, and Jerry Musgrave.
Interment will follow in Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with their costs.
