Joe was born on May 16, 1957 in Catskill to Elizabeth (Castle) and Harold Maxwell.
A “Jack of All Trades,” Joe worked in construction, plumbing and truck driving, as well as at Shaul Farms in Fultonham.
Nothing brought him greater pleasure than being in the outdoors, fishing and camping. He also never missed a moment to run his fingers over his guitar strings, bringing music to life with his talent.
Joe was predeceased by his parents and his brother: David Maxwell and his granddaughter: Pheonix Mattice.
His loving family includes his wife of 42 years, Emma (King) Maxwell of Breakabeen, whom he married on September 3, 1977 and their children: Angela Maxwell (Jonathon) of Cobleskill, Nathan Maxwell and Tobias (Emily) Maxwell all of Breakabeen; grandchildren: Trinity Mattice, Ashliegh Mullen, Kayli Mullen and Michele Waddel; sisters: Linda Maxwell Mallon of Coxackie, Connie Riley of Catskill; brothers: Robert (Patty) Maxwell of Saugerties, Orville Maxwell of Hudson, Steven Maxwell and Monty Maxwell, both of Florida; his mother-in-law: Lucretia “Kitty” King of Breakabeen ; sister and brother-in-law: Alice and Sam Ostrowski of Breakabeen along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
