Joe Randal Potts, 68 died Wednesday March 20, 2019 at his home in Rienzi, Mississippi. He was born in Decatur County, TN on May 12, 1950, to Percy Joe Potts and Mary Alice Johnson Potts. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was an Electrician until becoming disabled. He served in the U S Army as a member of the 7th Special Forces. (Airborne) He rose to the rank of SGT. He enjoyed riding and training horses, playing with his grandchildren and teaching them to ride a horse, shoot a gun, and how to hunt.
Services were held at the Decatur County Community Center on April 6, 2019 at 2PM. There were an American Legion Service Ceremony at the graveside at Decaturville Cemetery in Decaturville, Tennessee at 2:30 PM.
He is survived by his wife Stella Potts of Rienzi, MS, one son, Caleb Potts of Rienzi, MS., two daughters Mary J0 Horn (Greg) of Rienzi, MS and Carla Horton (Jeff) of Brownsville, TN. His grandchildren, Alaura-Danin Pierce, Wyatt Horton, Harlee-Shyanna Starling, Izabella Lytal, Kathrine Lytal, Kaylee Horn, Abby Horn, Dawson Horn, Haniel Garcia, Valentina Potts, Blaze Potts, Hannah Bozek, Shelby Bozek, and Dakota Jasch. One great-granddaughter, Elena Pierce and two special sisters-in-law, Molly Potts and Margie Potts.
