He was a son of John and Mary Ann Bool. He was baptized in the Parish of Martock, Church of England, year 1876. Herbert was a nephew of Henry Bool of Montacute. Henry first came to Ithaca c. 1872. Henry died in Montacute in 1922.

Herbert J. Bool, 86, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Helen Scollon in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania. He was a former resident of Ithaca.

He worked for the H.J. Bool Company, retiring c. 1938.

Herbert was a member of the Fidelity Masonic Lodge 51 F. & A.M.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Helen Scollon, Barnesboro, Pa.; a son, Herbert W. Bool, Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Bool, Lockport; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in the Wagner Funeral Home, Ithaca. The pastor of the First Congregational Church officiated. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Andrew W. McElwee, Arthur Cleaveland, Alfred Hall, Charles Jamison, George Van Valin and Elwood C. Wagner.
