Susan J. Vaughn, 52, passed away February 9, 2020 at her home in Lochsloy, Washington, following a car accident.
She was born December 30, 1967 in Ilion, New York, the daughter of Roger S. and Diane S. (Slocum) Vaughn of Richfield Springs, New York. She grew up on the Vaughn family farm, attended the Richfield Springs school system, and moved west, eventually making her home in Snohomish County, Washington.
She received her BA Degree in Human Services from Western Washington University and her MA Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.
She was employed as Chief of Operations at Catholic Community Services and Chief Operating Officer at Youth Care working tirelessly for those in need, with an innate skill and compassion for those impacted by disasters including her work on Eastern Washington wildfires and the Oso landslide.
Susan enjoyed hiking, sports, gardening, working on the property, traveling, shopping, music, new experiences and companionship with her golden retriever Ralph.
She is survived by her parents; brother, Kenneth; sons, Sidney and Ryan Miner; grandson, Shy; partner, Matthew Burdick along with daughter, Kristina and grandson, Felix; several aunts, uncles and cousins and many close friends.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Sidney E. and Katherine E. (Jennings) Vaugh, and Oliver F. and Jeanette D. (Patterson) Slocum.
Catholic Burial Services will be held on Friday February 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Darrington Cemetery, 1324 SR 530 NE, Darrington, WA 98241.
Fellowship and reception to follow at Darrington Community Center, 570 Sauk Avenue, Darrington, WA 98241.
