Sharon Kay Calhoun, 70 of Danville, left us suddenly on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at her home.

Visitation will be from 11-1pm on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Kruger Coan Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Kurt Sovine officiating. Following services Sharon will be laid to rest in Gundy Cemetery.

Sharon was born October 8, 1949 in Danville to Lee and Evelyn (Ritter) Moreman. She attended Collett Grade School and Danville High School, graduating in 1967 and going on to attend Beauty School. Sharon worked as a beautician for many years, owning Sharon’s Beauty Shop, as well as clerking her husband’s auctions. She attended Pleasant Grove Bible Chapel, and enjoyed going to flea markets and finding the best deals.

You could often find Sharon doing yoga, decorating her house for every holiday (especially Christmas), sending cards to every family member, never missing a holiday, and planning shopping trips with her girls. She was a tremendous cook and enjoyed watching sports- especially the Cubs, the Illini, and the Green Bay Packers. Most of all, Sharon loved spending time with her family, and doting on her grandkids.

On June 20, 1971, Sharon married Ronald L. Calhoun at Union Corner Church, and the two have shared nearly forty-nine years together. She leaves behind her husband Ron; three daughters: Christina (Jonathan) Prather, April (Ryan) Smith, and Amber (Justin) Wilson; three grandchildren: Chloe Prather, Hannah Smith, and Noah Smith; and a brother: Herb Moreman. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made in Sharon’s name to OSF Cancer Care Center. Messages and memories may be left on our website at www.KrugerCoanPape.com, or on the Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home Facebook page.
