Arnie “Dean” Abbott, 66, of 240 Toneff Drive, died Thursday November 16, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo of a heart attack.
He was born November 11, 1929 in Vinton, son of Arnie and Elsie Brown Abbott. He married Kathleen J. Card, November 18, 1950 in Waterloo.
He was a supervisor for the buildings and grounds for the Cedar Falls school system, retiring this year.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Michael of Cedar Falls; two daughters, DeAnn Huffman of Waterloo and Cynthia Zelle of Marion; 7 grandchildren and three sister, Ila Derifield and Iris Walters, both of Waterloo and Nancy Abbott of Vinton.
Preceded in death by a grandsons; four brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Linden United Methodist Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
