Michael “Mike” David Haynes, age 66, of Marlette, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 28, 2020.

He was born August 5, 1953 in Charleston, West Virginia, son of Robert and Della (Lisenby) Haynes. Mike married the love of his life Kathy Petersen on March 20, 1976 in Hollywood, Florida. He was IT Manager at SAS Global in Warren. Mike attended North Goodland Baptist Church in Imlay City and enjoyed singing in the praise band at church. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Mike enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s soccer games, woodworking and building many things “(Designer Firewood)”, fixing computers, listening to audio books and shopping on Amazon.

Michael is lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Kathy (Petersen) Haynes; daughter, Kristen (Jason) Kiley; grandchildren, Alex, Graham, and Laine Kiley; brother, Kenneth “Gene” Haynes; sisters-in-law, Karen (Jim) Dieckmann, Cyndie (Scott) Walstra, Sue Petersen and Judy Drago; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Haynes; parents, Robert and Della Haynes; father and mother-in-law, Donald and Donna (Boag) Petersen, step father-in-law, Henry Miller; brother-in-law, Jerry Petersen; nephew, Robert Haynes; and great-niece, Isabelle Moustakas.

A Funeral Service was held at North Goodland Baptist Church, Imlay City, with Pastor John Chippewa officiating.

Burial followed in Burnside Township Cemetery.
