He was born in Brockton and lived in Wareham and Hollis, NH before moving to Fairhaven. He graduated from Wareham High School and Bridgewater State University.
Mr. Horton was a History Teacher at Merrimack High School in Merrimack, NH for 28 years before retiring.
He enjoyed listening to music and was an avid reader.
Survivors include his father, Howard Richard Horton of Wareham; a sister, Debbie Goss and her husband Chet of Rochester; 3 brothers, Dick Horton, Robert Horton and Dean Horton and his wife Cathy all of Wareham; 2 nephews, Hunter and Tyler Horton; a niece, Melissa Hayward Kendrigan; 2 great nieces, Madison Hayward and Emma Kendrigan and a great nephew, Braden Hayward.
His graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 in Agawam Cemetery, Wareham.
