The death occurred early last Week of Mr. Robert Joseph Cusack, of Allen street, East Fremantle and formerly of the 57th Battalion A.I.F. A native of New South Wales, the late Mr. Cusack had resided in Western Australia for 37 years. He enlisted for service overseas in 1915 and was invalided home in 1917, after having been seriously wounded at Pozieres. He leaves a widow, two sons and one daughter to mourn their loss. The remains were interred in the Roman Catholic portion of the Karrakatta Cemetery, a requiem mass being celebrated previously at St. Patrick's Church, Fremantle, the Rev. Father Moore being the celebrant. The Rev. Father P. Casey, of the Nedlands Presbytery, conducted the last rites at the graveside. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Arthur E. Davies and Co. There were no flowers by request but widespread expressions of sympathy have been extended to the bereaved relatives." - Fremantle Advocate, Thursday 30 September 1937, page 3
