March 24, 1922 ~ July 28, 2009
Ray Elwood Morrison of Vancouver, WA, passed away July 28, 2009. He was born in Rutledge, MO on a family farm to Ben and Pansy Morrison. Ray had two brothers and three sisters. Margaret Synder of Kirksville, MO and Marjorie Robertson of Jansen Beach, FL survive him.
Ray married Rose Beaudry in 1941 in Pocatello, ID. They were married 67 years.
Ray lived in Richland, WA from 1948 until 1965. He lived in Vancouver, WA for 43 years.
He worked at several trades, including a barber.
He was the type of person that could do about whatever he set his mind to do. He had a real love to garden.
Ray and Rose were very hospitable. No one left their house without a meal and a friendly visit.
A highpoint in his life happened in 1943 that influenced the rest of his life: the hope God's Kingdom was explained to him in his bible (Dan.2:44, Luke 4:43). He learned what God's Kingdom would do for mankind. (Rev 21:3.4 no more death, pain or sorrow. Ps. 37;9,10 11 and 29 The evil ones will be cut off and the righteous ones will live forever in the abundance of peace and for those who have died a promise to come back to life (John 5:28.29). These promises were very real to him. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses he spent many hours talking to people about these promises. If he were alive today, he would invite you to consider the bright future the bible presents for mankind. This hope he passed on to his son and entire remaining family. We look forward to these promises coming true.
Ray is survived by his wife, Rose; and their one son, Jerry, who lives in Richland, WA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
His memorial will be held in Vancouver, WA, Sat., Aug. 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2408 NE Stapleton Road.
